Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born the 18th of November 1985 in Los Angeles. The father of the child, Paul Felix is an ordained Minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix's talent for athletics was evident from the moment she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. At her first attempt she was ranked in the top two at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, for 200 meters in just 10 weeks. In 2003 Felix graduated from high school and signed a professional deal with the sports company Adidas before enrolling in the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics held which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, she became the youngest world champion of 200 meters during the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, beating her longtime Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She always finished in the top three of all events.
